Here we go, building them up again, those useless clowns. Just because Steven Gerrard looked the best midfield player on the pitch when Liverpool played Arsenal at the weekend, Frank Lampard was excellent as Chelsea scored six and Joe Hart was man of the match for Manchester City, it is more of the same old, same old, suggesting English footballers might actually be good at football.
Nonsense, obviously. The elite players in this country are, as we know, rubbish and need sweeping out en masse, to be replaced by younger, hungrier specimens from smaller clubs and the lower leagues who could teach them a thing or two about passion and commitment.
